Travel #3 // Amsterdam

Hi lovelies. As you may or may not know, this is my third post for my Travel Series, which goes live every Tuesday. Today I am writing about my trips to Amsterdam! I have been to Amsterdam twice, and would go again. There are so many things to do in Amsterdam, you will never be bored! Plus, it is only like a 30-40 minute flight from where I live, which is a bonus. By the time you take off and reach maximum height, your ready to start descending again to land!  The weather is pretty much the same as England because its so close, but its still a good holiday!

I cant find all the pictures from our holiday, so this post is going to be mostly about what we did there more than pictures :)

Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is a wax museum. It was the first time I had been to a wax museum and it was amazing! How do they get them to look so much like the real people?! There was lots of famous (wax) people to look at and you could go an take your photo with them. This was a good experience and I would recommend going here if you go to Amsterdam.

Torture Museum

The Torture Museum was a bit of an odd one for us to go to, but we thought it would be interesting. So we went. Inside it is quite dark with dim lights. You follow the path way round, and along the way there are the torture devices they used to use. Some are behind glass, but most of them can be touched. Each device features an enlarged image from an old book or a newspaper article featuring the device, it's description and how it was used.  It is quite horrible looking at it all, knowing that people actually used to use them. But at the same time, it's interesting. If you are into history, I'd recommend visiting this museum.

Artis Zoo

The Amsterdam Zoo. I would definitely recommend going here! I loved it. You can get there by foot as its not that far from the city centre. They have all the animals for you to walk around and see, an aquarium, a butterfly house, a botanical garden, a planetarium, an insect house and a zoological museum. You can walk through an indoor area where there are monkeys playing and running around you. There are no cages or enclosures for them, they are literally playing where you are walking! The only thing I didn't like .. was the butterfly house. My boyfriend made me walk through it and I hated it. There are hundreds of butterfly's flying around everywhere! Don't get me wrong, some of them are beautiful colours and look pretty, but I hate insects! So this was not for me! But I still did it and was glad I did, I just wouldn't do that part again! All in all, the zoo was amazing and one of the best attractions I went to.

There are also lots of places to eat in Amsterdam and it is very good for shopping! There are plenty more museums and attractions to visit and when I go back again, I will definitely be going to the Amsterdam Dungeons! We did also go to the Sex Museum, which was definitely an experience! If you like casinos, there are a few there and like all tourist places .. there are alot of souvenir shops!

I thoroughly enjoyed both my trips to Amsterdam and if you are thinking of going, do it!

If you've been to Amsterdam before, what attractions did you see/do? If your going to Amsterdam, what attractions are you planning to visit?

Much Love..

Travel #2 // Egypt ❤

Hello lovelies! Its Tuesday again so that can only mean one thing .. a travel post! Last Tuesday I started my travel Tuesday series where I will write a post about my travels every Tuesday until I run out of holidays to write about! Last weeks post was about Lanzarote, this week, I will be writing about my trip to Egypt. There will be plenty of pictures for you to look at :)

A few years ago me and my boyfriend went on holiday to Egypt. We'd heard a lot of mixed things about Egypt, but we thought we might as well see for ourselves if we like it, because everybodys opinions are different. We were so glad we decided to go as we had an amazing time! We stayed at the Savita Hotel, in Shalm El Shiekh, which was absolutely beautiful and had everything there so we didn't really have to venture too far. There were shops, restaurants, bars, pools and it even had its own beach which was awesome! :)

While we were there, we took a walk into Soho Square. Soho Square is a shopping place, which is so beautiful. The floors were marble and all the buildings and shops were made of glass. It was so pretty! We didn't buy anything while we were there .. we just went for a walk around to look at all the statues and shops that were there. On the way, we saw a man with some camels, so asked him if we could have a picture taken with the one of the camels. He took our camera and we went and stood in front of the camel. He told us to sit on it so he could get a picture, so we did. He took the picture and next thing we know he has stood the camel up and is walking us down the road! Even though we didn't ask for a camel ride, we did get some good pictures!

We also went on a snorkelling trip and to a deserted island, which was stunning! We boarded onto a speed boat and off we went. We drove past an abandoned ship, that had been there for years and is now an attraction, got to the island and went snorkelling. If i'm honest, snorkelling was an amazing experience, but all the fish swimming around me just freaked me out! I wish we had bought an underwater camera though because the tropical fish that we did see were beautiful colours and would have made amazing photos!

All in all, we had an amazing time in Egypt, the weather was beautiful and were glad we decided to go! Here are a few more pictures.. :)

Hope you enjoyed this weeks edition! Next week will be yet another travel post about somewhere else. If you are enjoying reading these posts .. please do let me know! Leave a comment, or you can find me on Twitter - @cloudsinup.

Have you ever been to Egypt?

Much Love..

Travel #1 // Lanzarote ❤

Hi everyone! Ive been thinking of starting a Travel Tuesday series where each week on a Tuesday I will post about a holiday Ive been on, and what I did/visited whilst I was there. I got the idea from the lovely Bekah, who has a travel series where she will give you tips on the top things to do/places to visit in all of the top countries and cities. You can find her blog and follow her series here. To start off, I thought I would write a post about my holiday to Lanzarote. (Just to let you know, there will be ALOT of photos :))

Lanzarote is one of the beautiul Canary Isands off the coast of South Africa. The island was made from volcanic eruptions and has solidified lava streams as well as extravagant rock formations. There are alot of volcanos on the island.

One of the things we did while we was there was a volcano tour. We went to Timanfaya National Park and saw the lava feilds formed by the 18th century volcanic eruption. They show you different experiments demonstrating the power of the heat below the surface. You get to see all of the beautiful and colourful rocks formed by the volcanos. At the end of the tour, you get the chance to ride a camal around the base of fire mountain. I would recommend going on this trip if you go to Lanzarote as you learn alot about the history of the island, and get to see some great scenic veiws. The only scary thing was the bus ride ... the driver didn't exactly drive slow around the volcanos, which had massive drops at the side of the road and no barrier!

Another trip we went on was to Rancho Texas Park. The park is full of animals and they have sea lion show where you can swim and interact with the sea lions themselves! They have a large selections of meals for you to choose from and lots of outdoor spaces for you to relax. All the animals are living in recreations of their natural habitats. It is a great day out and I highly recommend it! There are always shows going on in different areas of the park, so you will never be short of things to do. It really was an amazing experience!

The beaches in Lanzarote are amazing! Me and my boyfriend walked to a private beach where no cars can get to. You have to get there by foot. And it took a while. After about 2 hours of walking with the sun beaming down on us, we finally arrived at the beach we were looking for. There was a little cafe overlooking the beach which was a nice place to get a drink and some food after our long walk. The beach and the sea was absolutely beautiful!

Here are just a few more photos for you .. :)

If you've stayed until the end of this post ... Yay!! :) Thankyou for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed reading and looking at the photos! Next Tuesday there will be another holiday post, about a different destination. Please let me know if you enjoy reading posts like this and your thoughts on me doing one every week? You can find me on Twitter - @cloudsinup.

Where was your favourite holiday/vacation? Have you been to Lanzarote before?

Let me know in the comments if you've visited any of the places mentioned above! :)
