Fall Inspired Crafts

I don't know about you, but this year I am really excited for Autumn! Big wooly jumpers, thick socks, boots, autumnal colours and smells (cinnamon and apple etc), cosy nights, but I am especially excited about all of the fall crafts I am going to make!

I have been browsing through Pinterest at all the amazing crafts I can make, and I am going to share with you some of the ones I found that I am really looking forward to making.

Stenciled Leaf Mug

This fun and simple craft is perfect for Autumn. Your own personalised autumnal mug that looks cute and you will be the only person that has it! Perfect for hot chocolates!

Leaf Tea Light Jar

This craft is different, easy and inexpensive to make. It will be beautiful on a cold night and create a relaxing, autumnal coloured dim light to your room!

Sculpted Glitter Autumn Acorns

Put these in a jar around a candle or even by themselves for a beautiful decoration during fall. I absolutely love the colours of these glittery acorns!

Leaf Prints

This is another simple and inexpensive craft idea. You get to choose some of your favourite autumn leaves to put in them too!

Ombre Pine Cones

Simple yet effective. You can use autumnal colours on the pine cones and hang them up as a garland, along your mantelpiece or just on your wall. They will look good anywhere!

Autumn Scent

Fill your home with the scent of autumn. You can use whatever your favourite autumnal scents are to bring the beautiful smell into your home!

I am so excited to be able to make these crafts. When I do make them, rest assured that there will be a blog post to follow. I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Are you going to be making any fall inspired crafts? I'd love to know!

Have a great day and don't forget to smile :)

Wedding Card Box // DIY ❤

Hi lovely people! Hope everyone's weekend is getting off to a good start! .. Last July (2014), my mum got married. A few months before her wedding, I received a message off her asking me if I would make a Wedding Card Box! I didn't have a clue what it was, so I googled it. When I saw all of the beautiful boxes that was on Google, I was so privileged to have been asked to make one for my mum! :)

So off I went to get all of the bits and pieces I needed to make it. I used 3 different sized shoe boxes, which I got from a shoe shop who didn't need them, some material in the same colour scheme as the wedding colours, and then some little decoration bits. My mum had chose a cadburys purple and cream for the colours, which I think looked absolutely beautiful!

To start off with I cut holes, in the lids of the shoe boxes, big enough for the cards to drop through. Then I covered all the boxes in the material I had bought. I then stuck all the boxes together to make one big box. When it was all stuck together, I cut a rectangle into the middle box for people to put their cards through. I then decorated it with diamonds, some 3D wedding stickers and some ribbon. I also bought some wooden letters and painted them white to write 'cards' on the top box.

I was so proud of how it turned out and my mum (thankfully) loved it! I was so pleased to even be asked to make something for my mums special day, and I think making your own decor for your wedding is so much more meaningful. (And Cheaper!)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Do you like making things? What do you like making/ creating?

Much Love..

Glass Etching // Tutorial

Hello Lovlies!! As promised in my 'Creative Outburst - Homemade Crafts' post, here is my post about Glass Etching! :)

I am actually going to do a tutorial today so you can also try this at home if you like it. Its easy to do and the outcome is actually really good! They would make perfect Christmas/Birthday presents, or any kind of present for that matter. Especially 16th,18th, 21st, any special birthdays, and even Bride and Groom champagne glasses. The possibilities are endless!

So first things first .. You will need:
  • Etching Cream
  • A small paint brush
  • A clean glass
  • Stencils
  • Tape
  • Gloves

The first thing you want to do is clean your glass. You want to get rid of any fingerprints or marks that may be on there. Once it's been washed and towel dried, place your stencils where you would like them to go and stick them down.

If you are using more than one stencil, e.g letters or numbers, like I am, then try to place them as close together as possible to stop any etching cream getting in the gaps between them.

Next you want to take your tape and stick it around all the edges of the stencils to protect the rest of the glass from getting etched. You can use duct tape or painters tape for this, but I didn't realise that I had ran out of both .. so I had to use normal sellotape. When all of the edges are covered, put on your gloves. You do not want to get this stuff on your skin, it will burn you! Take your painbrush and heavily apply the etching cream over your stencils. Make sure everything you want to be on the glass is covered.

Leave it to sit for 10-15 minutes and then rinse of the cream with warm water. Use your paintbrush to help wipe it all of.

Now it's time to remove your stencils and see your amazing work. The stencils should easily peel off.

Last thing you should do is wash your glass with warm water and washing up liquid to remove any excess cream or any marks left from the tape. Don't worry, it's not going to wash off! Etching cream eats away at the top layer of glass, so your design will stay on there forever.

And thats it. Here is my finished glass which I decided to put my Blog name onto. I am really happy with how it turned out since this is actually my first attempt!

Let me know if you try this, and make sure to send me photos! I would love to see them!

Thankyou for stopping by to have a read and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Creative Outburst - Homemade Crafts

Hi everyone!

I love making things and being creative. It's such a nice feeling when you take your time to make well .. anything, and you get complimented on it or even asked to make it for  someone else!

So in today's post, I thought I would share with you some of the crafts I've made. Maybe this will help me get back into crafting as it's something I love and enjoy doing!

The first thing I will show you is this Chrysanthemum Mirror, made from plastic spoons, I made last summer. A friend liked it so much, that she asked me to make one for her, and then had me make 5 smaller ones in different colours for her work friends leaving do! I am very proud of this mirror and had fun making it. And it's not actually hard to make. It just takes some time but is absoloutly worth it! If you would Like to make this mirror, you can find the instructions here.

This next craft is made by crocheting. Once I learnt how to crochet, I loved to make headbands and hats for my neice and nephew. I will show you a few of the hats and one of the headbands I made. If you would like to see more, just let me know! ☺I learnt how to crochet from watching videos on YouTube.

Canvases. You can change the look of a room with just a few pieces of wall art. And you don't have to spend loads of money on them, you can just make them at home! For these canvases I made, I just bought some plain canvases from b&m and found some pictures on Google images to copy onto them and changed them up a bit to make my own version. I really enjoyed making these!

Next, these personalised plates were a hit at Christmas time! I had a lot of people ask me to make them for their children or grand-children. They are fun and easy to make and don't take too long!

I have also bought some glass etch, so that will be my next project. I'm really excited to see how the glasses turn out. I will be sure to let you know!

Thankyou for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this post!
