New Tastes // American Food

Hello everyone! I hope your weekend is getting off to a good start! In todays' post I am going to be listing some traditional America Food that I would like to try! Some of this you may already be able to get here in England, but lets be honest .. the food always looks better when you see it in movies or pictures that are actually in America! *All images are from Google*

1. Corn Dogs
A Corn Dog is a hot dog sausage coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter on a stick. They are traditionally associated with State Fairs.

2. Pancakes and Maple Syrup
Even though we have pancakes here in the UK, they never seem to turn out like the American pancakes! They just look so good! Layered pancakes topped with butter and maple syrup.

3. Baked Alaska
Baked Alaska is a dessert consisting of ice-cream and cake topped with browned meringue.

4. Snow Cone
Snow Cones consist of ice shavings that are topped with flavoured syrup. Basically the same as slushes, or slush puppies, but are made to look like ice-creams in a paper cone!

5. Mississippi Mud Pie
Mississippi Mud Pie is a chocolate based dessert pie. It contains a gooey chocolate sauce on top of a crumbly chocolate crust. It is usually served with ice-cream.

6. Twinkies
Twinkies are an American snack cake with a creamy filling.

7. Key Lime Pie
Key Lime Pie is an American dessert made of key lime juice, egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk in a pie crust sometimes topped with meringue.

8. Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin pie is a sweet dessert traditionally eaten during the fall and early winter, especially for Thanksgiving and Christmas in the United States and Canada.

9. S'mores
A s'more is a roasted marshmallow and a layer of chocolate sandwiched between two pieces of graham cracker. They are traditional night-time campfire treats popular in the United Stares and Canada.

I know not all, in fact none, of these foods are healthy .. but they all look sooo good! If I ever go to America (which would be a dream) then I am definitely going to try some, if not all of these foods! I bet the pies are not as good to buy in a shop then they would be if someone's grandma cooked them! You cant beat home-made food and grandma's are normally the best at baking! But since I don't know anyone in America ... Mine will have to be shop bought.

If you are American or live in America or even if you have visited America and tried any of these treats ... let me know what you think of them! Is there anything else you think I should add to my list off American foods to try?

Thanks for stopping by!

Much Love..
